Hey everyone 🙂
Today I thought I’d do a quick run through on make up products that I use daily.
I love looking at other peoples’ make up bags and seeing what they use, so here’s what makes up my face on a normal day!
This is usually what I use on a normal day, if I’m going into work (yawn) or not doing anything special.
For my base, depending on what mood I’m in, I like to use Mac Strobe Cream, Catrice Prime and Fine Base, Benefit Porefessional.
The Mac Strobe Cream is just fabulous. It leaves your skin feeling soft and silky & also gives an illuminating base for your foundation. I picked up Catrice Prime and Fine in Penneys for I think about €5. It’s a great primer if you’re on a budget and it has lasted me quite a while! Benefit Porefessional is one of my favourites. It’s fab for covering pores (obviously) & I just love love love the texture! I got the mini size in a Benefit gift set, & this is another product that lasts quite a while as you only need to use the smallest amount each time.
I then use Mac Pro Long Wear Concealer in NW20. I apply this in a triangle shape under my eyes using an L.A. Make Up Academy concealer brush – & then in any areas that need an extra bit of coverage!
I absolutely love this concealer, it’s a holy grail product for me. It really brightens up the under eye area and gets rid of that tired eye look!
Moving onto foundation, I apply Mac Studio Fix Fluid also in NW20 using the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. I would usually get concealer for under my eyes in a shade lighter. But I’ve found that the Pro Long Wear concealer in the same shade as my foundation is that bit lighter anyway, so I didn’t see the need to get it in another shade lighter again. I’ve been using this foundation for the past 3 years, maybe a bit more, & I still love it. Although I’m thinking about picking up Esteé Lauder Double Wear for a change!
For a natural contouring look, Sleek Contour Palette is my absolute favourite. It’s a fabulous product and so affordable to top it off.
This is the bronzer in the kit, it’s such a nice bronzed colour and it’s my favourite to use in the palette itself.
I apply this where bronzer normally goes, along my cheekbones, up towards my forehead and back down again. I also sometimes apply a little at each side of my nose.
After I apply this, I use powder to set everything before any highlighter or blush. I’m statring to hit the pan in this bronzer (if you can see that tiny little dot in the middle) & I’m dreading when it starts to disappear altogether! 😦
I absolutely love this highlighter!
I use this (after powder) above my cheekbones and under my brows for that great highlighted look.
Again, I sometimes put a small amount down the bridge of my nose.
This is the blush that’s in the Sleek palette. It’s a gorgeous colour & also has a small bit of shimmer to it.
Although I love the colour, I find it’s a bit too pink for me so I only use a small amount!
Over all, the Sleek palette is amazing & I would recommend it to anyone.
I’ve been using this Physicians Formula Mineral Wear powder a lot recently.
I got this in a goodie bag at the Irish Blogger Conference & that I did because it’s such a great powder.
It leavers a great matte look without being too heavy.
I was new to the Physicians Formula brand & any product I’ve tried since has been fab. Loving this brand right now 🙂
For my brows I use Benefit Browzings which I could not live with out! I use this everyday with out fail (apart from those days where makeup is a no no) & I absolutely love it.
Although I do only use the powder side, not the gel side as I could never get the hand of it and I just thought my brows were more natural with out.
Instead of the 2 brushes that come with Browzings, I use this L.A Make Up Academy brush.
It has a flat head so it’s perfect for doing brows!
I love that a mini tweezers also comes with Browzings. It’s so handy!
This is definitely my favourite product to use for my eyebrows.
Moving on to my eyes. I love Urban Decay Naked palettes & I like to change between 1, 2 & 3. And then of course eyeliner – I love pen eyeliners lately, they’re so easy to use! But if I’m not doing anything in particular that day that I don’t need to do my eyes for, or just going into work, I like to use Mac Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly (B43).
This is great for a natural look & because of the texture it’s easy to apply with both a brush or even if you want to swipe it on with your finger.
For a bit more depth, I use this L.A Make Up Academy slanted eyeshadow brush to blend a small bit of bronzer (from the Sleek palette) into my crease.
Finally, mascara! Right now I’m using Soap & Glory Thick & Fast mascara, which I love! I recently wrote about it in my post ‘Mascara Masters’, if you would like to have a read you can click here. 🙂
So that’s the products I use for normal day to day make up! I might change it around with my eyes, but other than that there you have it 🙂
Has anyone tried any of these products? Let me know if you have in the comments 🙂
